Welcome to Gister! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Gister website and services (the "Service"), operated by Afonso Raposo ("we", "our", or "us"). By using Gister, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Gister. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

2. Account Registration

• To create gists or post comments, you must register for an account.
• You agree to provide accurate, complete, and updated account information.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. User Content

• You retain ownership of the content (gists, comments) you create on Gister.
• By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and share your content as necessary to provide the Service.

Content Visibility

• Gists are public by default but can be marked as unlisted or private before publishing.
• Comments can only be added via a private link shared by the gist owner.
• Gists and comments are not currently indexed by search engines, but this may change in the future.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Gister to:

• Violate any law or regulation.
• Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others.
• Post or transmit any content that is abusive, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts, data, or systems.

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

5. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. When you do, all of your content (gists, comments) will be permanently deleted.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, especially if you violate these Terms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify users by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
